Monday afternoon, the Great Bend Police Department issued a report of a missing woman and her infant son. Police Chief Steve Haulmark at Monday’s Great Bend City Council meeting said the two could possibly be in danger.

Her vehicle was located at the residence of Tyler Epp, age 25, who she shares a son with in town.

"We're trying to work through that right now," said Haulmark. "It's kind of a strange deal. An individual who's identified in the investigation is a previously convicted felon. He was arrested for a couple of things to include being in possession of a firearm."

The Police Department served two search warrants in Great Bend on Sunday in relation to the missing Crystal Demoss, age 32.

Epp was booked into the Barton County Jail on May 6 on a Barton County District Court case for Criminal Use of Weapons and Possession of Marijuana. He posted a $10,000 surety bond that same day. In January 2020, Epp was arrested in a traffic stop for possession of cocaine and marijuana. In June 2020, Epp was booked for unlawful distribution of a controlled substance.

Law enforcement is seeking any information as to the whereabouts of Demoss and her son.
