Ellinwood Hospital & Clinic hosted Mr. Kern’s Industrial Education class from Ellinwood High School for a tour through the new hospital & clinic led by Bill Athey, Project Manager for EHC. The students were able to see the progress of the hospital from when they took their last tour back in September of 2023.

"This opportunity allowed them to see and learn about the hospital construction early on when it was just steel framing and exposed electrical," said Kile Magner, CEO of Ellinwood Hospital & Clinic. "This time, they were able to see the hospital with actual walls and learn about a mechanical room full of equipment that runs the facility."

The students also received the opportunity to learn first hand from workers on-site about the importance of trade professions and what those workers were accomplishing and why it is crucial for the new hospital.

The hospital is making head way and is still on target to be fully operational on Aug. 1. With rooms being near complete and ready for the next step of getting equipment & furniture set up and installed, you can see the stark contrast between space and design of the current hospital versus the new hospital. It is equally as exciting to see the design and layout of the departments at the new hospital & clinic such as the new state of the art Therapy Services Department, and the all new Surgical Services.

"It was truly inspiring to witness the tour of the high school students because we are creating a space for future generations to be a part of building a healthier tomorrow," said Manger. "By igniting their passion in different fields, whether they are trade or medical related, we are supporting their own growth and allowing them to learn along the way. Ellinwood Hospital and Clinic is truly committed to the community."
