Two men are in jail after failing to elude police Sunday in Barton County. According to the Barton County Sheriff’s Office, Jonas Grubb and 34-year old Jason McKinnon are in custody after they ran from a traffic stop.
According to Sheriff Brian Bellendir, just after 9:30 a.m. Sunday a deputy tried to stop a car heading northbound on Highway 281. The driver refused to stop which led to a high speed chase that ended in Hoisington where the suspects vehicle hit stop sticks just inside the city limits. Both men tried to flee on foot.
Jonas Grub was captured a short time later. He was wanted on outstanding warrants in Barton County and Great Bend.
Jason McKinnon was not found until just after 3:00 p.m. hiding in an outbuilding. According to Bellendir, he was wanted for parole violations and weapons charges out of Virginia.
