Police investigating report of alleged animal cruelty at Kan. park

SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a disturbing allegation of animal cruelty that was reported on April 17, to Wichita Police and shared on social media.

The incident involves a white male subject with an animal at Sim Park, 2020 W. Murdock in Wichita and was captured on video demonstrating potential cruelty, according to Wichita Police spokesman Andrew Ford.

Upon receiving the video, the Wichita Police Department promptly initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this unsettling event. The department is urgently seeking to locate and interview the subject seen in the video to determine the nature of the incident and whether any laws have been violated.

Chief of Police Joe Sullivan reassured, "We take allegations of animal cruelty very seriously and are unwavering in our commitment to ensuring the safety and welfare of all animals in our community. We urge anyone with information about this case to come forward to help us resolve this matter swiftly."
