With zero to low visibility, an activity bus with Russell USD 407 was involved in an accident Tuesday morning. The bus was transporting the Russell/Victoria baseball team to Liberal for a doubleheader.
The accident occurred on Northwest 30 Avenue, north of Northwest 50 Road, in Barton County. Law enforcement blocked off Northwest 30 Avenue from Northwest 50 Road and north.
Minor injuries to three students have been reported.
In a letter sent out to USD 407 families, Superintendent Jordan Perez said the school district was notified of the crash shortly after 10 a.m. The crash occurred at low speeds due to drivers slowing down to navigate the conditions. USD 407 administration drove to the scene to transport the students and staff back to Russell.
