SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating an attempted arson and have made an arrest.
A man has been arrested following an attempt to light a building on fire Sunday evening.
Just before 6p.m. Sunday, police responded to Robinson Middle School, located at 1125 SW 14th Street in response to an unknown problem. It was alleged that a man later identified as 28-year-old Malcom A. Buchanan had attempted to light the school on fire.
Officers located a suspect matching the description reported and took Buchanan into custody. He was was later booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges Arson; Non-Dwelling With Intent To Injure and Transport Open Container Of Liquor.
