Suspect accused in stabbing at Kansas home

JOHNSON COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities investigating a stabbing  have a suspect in custody.

Just before 11:30p.m. April 11, police were dispatched to an armed disturbance at a residence in the the 200 block of North Clinton Street in Olathe, according to Police Major Joe Sudduth.

First responders found a 67-year-old man with a stab wound to his abdomen. The victim was transported to an area hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

Officers also found a 35-year-old suspect later identified as Marcos Martinez-Amaya at the scene who is an associate of the victim. Police arrested the Martinez-Amaya on requested charges of Aggravated Battery and lodged at the Johnson County Adult Detention Center. 

He was scheduled for a preliminary hearing Thursday, according to online jail records.
