ATCHISON COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas woman for alleged car theft.
Just after 1a.m. Thursday, police a stopped the vehicle at 10th and U.S.59 Highway in Atchison and took 20-year-old Caitlin M. Elias into custody, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson.
She is accused in the theft of a vehicle from the 1100 block South 10th Street in Atchison. She is being held on requested charges of theft by deception and Failure to Report Accident; Resulting in damage to unattended vehicle or property, according to online jail records.
