Heavy rain and localized flooding will remain possible through the morning hours as thunderstorms move slowly east across southern Kansas this morning. A diffuse warm front will return north and remain nearly stationary across the Kansas region this afternoon and evening. Moisture and instability will remain abundant for a few severe thunderstorms to develop this afternoon. Large hail up the the size of golf balls and damaging winds around 60 mph will be possible with any storm that develops. This activity will increase in coverage tonight becoming more widespread across Central and portions of Southeast Kansas. Some of the storms this evening may become severe with golf ball sized hail and locally heavy rainfall.
