Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper Charged with Rape
A Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper based out of Rush County has been charged with eight felonies in connection with sexual contact with children between the ages of 14 and 16.
Thirty-nine year old Domingo Cardenas was charged with eight felonies, including rape, aggravated criminal sodomy and six felony counts of aggravated indecent liberties. The charges are in connection with alleged incidents that occurred last year, and there were also charges related to incidents that were alleged to have happened in 2008 and 2009.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Cardenas was placed on a leave of absence while they conducted an internal investigation of the incidents that led to charges being filed in Rush County District Court. According to the charges, the rape charge against Cardenas allegedly occurred between December 1st and the 20th of last year. While the criminal sodomy charge, involving the same girl, happened between October 1st and November 30th also of last year.
Cardenas was also charged with six counts of aggravated indecent liberties, involving two girls between the ages of 14 and 16. The Kansas Attorney General’s office will handle the prosecution.
Is it wrong to think that he should be given two times the normal sentence since he’s a cop.

Sad. He is innocent until proven guilty. Even if he is innocent his career is most with the KHP is over. I hope for his sake he is innocent. If not he will be spending at least 25yrs with the KDOC.

What’s bad is that I knew him very well. Knew his family, and knew the girls this happened to. I feel so awful for them, and I thought he was a good guy. We all thought that. It just goes to show you that you never know about someone. Keep your children close to you. I feel so bad for the victims here.

Fact….You never know WHO, or what kind of Uniform or Title, a Sexual Preditor will be, will wear or will have. This man has been charged for these crimes for a reason. I suppose it is a little shocking when its someone you thought you knew. Its not like they are going to go around telling people. Jeckle and Hyde its the way a molester operates!
